John Evans joined the MFMA as the Technical Director in January 2021. John came from the construction management arena where he garnered 25 years of experience in the capacity of Project Superintendent and Construction Manager. His expertise spans the industry from planning and specifying to the finishing and close-out process, as well as hands-on experience. In his role, John has had the opportunity to be involved one way or another in hundreds of commercial and residential hardwood and synthetic flooring installations.

Since joining the MFMA, John has reviewed and cataloged over 200 inspection reports. He is responsible for providing the architectural and specifying communities a resource for unbiased information. He provides technical assistance on pre-installation and post-installation issues, oversight of all technical questions, field inspections, installer accreditation, technical content and literature, maintaining the MFMA PUR Performance Standards and the MFMA Grading Rules.

John resides in Riverwoods, Illinois, with his wife Debby, dog Bailey, and cat Brooke. He is an avid golfer, scuba diver, and culinarian.
