After leaving the Marines in the mid-1980s, our founder, James Gleason, began his career in architectural products by founding Woodwrights Wide Plank, one of Long Island’s most prestigious wide plank flooring companies. Architects, designers, and builders from Manhattan to Montauk relied on his expertise and skill to complete projects on time and budget and, most importantly, meet the highest standards of excellence. His success in the wide plank flooring space and his passion for fine architectural products led him to start the J. Gleason Window + Door Company.
